Questions About Dental Insurance?

Questions regarding new and current patient insurance coverages seems to grow by leaps and bounds every year.  We want to say we have good news for you.  Our skilled staff invests a great deal of their time learning about many of the most common insurance coverages used by our patients.  Please feel free to call our office and speak with one of our staff whenever you have a question regarding your insurance coverages.

As a courtesy to you, we will file your dental insurance claims, receive, and post credit from insurance payments to your account.  It is important to understand that, as your dental care provider, our relationship is with YOU, not your insurance carrier.  While filing of insurance claims is a service we extend to our patients, ultimately all charges for services rendered are your responsibility, no matter what insurance coverage is present. 

If you, as a patient, have any concerns, problems or dissatisfactions with your dental insurance coverage you should discuss it directly with the insurance carrier or the Human Resources Department at your place of employment.

When your dental insurance carrier or coverage changes, we request you notify our office with
your updated information.  We will try to answer any questions you may have relating to your insurance.  Please realize that:

  1. Your insurance is a contract between you, your employer and your insurance carrier. We
    are not a party to that contract.
  2. Our fees are considered to fall within the acceptable range by most carriers, and
    therefore, are covered up to the maximum allowance determined by each carrier and plan.
    This applies only to carriers who pay a percentage of their usual and customary rate.
  3. Not all services are a covered benefit in all contracts. Some insurance carriers arbitrarily
    select certain services they will not cover. Our office is not responsible for monitoring
    each contract limitation.
  4. Although your policy may state you have 100% coverage on either preventative or basic
    service, be aware that your annual deductible may still apply.
  5. Any information our office gives you regarding your insurance coverage is an estimate.
    We make these estimates based on information available to us. We are not responsible
    for any decisions regarding payments that the insurance carrier makes.
  6. Almost all insurance policies have an annual maximum paid. Our office is not
    responsible for monitoring the amount of benefits paid to date. Please check with your
    insurance carrier to determine what benefits remain on your policy for the current year.

No Insurance, No Problem

Although most insurance is accepted, we understand some of our patients don’t have dental coverage.   In order for you to maintain optimal dental health and to help ease the financial burden, we offer several payment options:

  • Smiles For Life In-House Plan: With an affordable annual fee our patients receive 50% off cleanings, exam and x-rays. Plus, significant discounts are offered for fillings, crowns and other needed dental work.
  • Care Credit Interest Free Financing:  6 or 12 month interest-free financing 
  • Cash Discount: A 10% cash discount is given for all dental services paid in full on the same day of service.  Senior Discount - 15% off for seniors over 65.
